Wet & windy transitions to possible flurries for Iowa

IOWA — Monday brought another round of good soaking rain to Central Iowa. Rainfall totals all stayed under 1″ but boosted the November rain total in Des Moines to 2.8″. Here’s a look at a few of the totals around the state.

The winds picked up overnight and some wind gusts early this morning got up close to 50 mph in northwest Iowa.

Winds will stay strong today from the west with gusts over 30 mph, especially during the morning hours in northern Iowa. They will lighten up late afternoon and evening, but another shortwave moves in from the northwest and brings strong winds again.

With the wind comes more clouds on Wednesday, there may even be a few wind-blown flurries or snow showers. This is most likely to fall in northern Iowa. No accumulation is expected except for far northern Iowa with maybe a dusting.
