It’s been a bit warmer than yesterday on this fine Sunday, ahead of a system that will bring us some light snow tonight. Your weather timeline takes you into Tuesday…
Snow showers and flurries look to move in to western and central Iowa later this evening. In the Des Moines metro area, snow will likely fall from roughly 10 p.m. until roughly 6 a.m., with little to a dusting of accumulation by morning. As seen below, most models keep the Des Moines area between a dusting and about 0.4″ of snow overnight. We may see a few slick spots in some areas during the Monday morning commute.
Lows will again be chilly tonight as seen below…
We’ll see a bit of warming mid-week, with Wednesday being our warmest day. However, the warmth will be tempered by strong wind gusts, shown in the image below. The gallery following shows highs for the next six days.
The 6-to-10 and 8-to-14-day outlooks keep us at or above normal for temperatures, and below normal for precipitation. The 7-day forecast rounds out this posting. Have a great night!
