Hawk fans cheer from Front Row in Clive

CLIVE, Iowa — Hawkeye fans who didn’t make the trip to Nashville, gathered at the Front Row in Clive to watch the Hawks in the Music City Bowl, versus Missouri.

Mark Shearer is the unofficial cheerleader during the game, using his trombone. He is an alum of the Iowa Mrching Band.

“Back in the 70s, been playing ever since you bet.” said Shearer. “I come here every time that I can every Saturday home game we just have a good time.”

As to the game, the fans got lots to watch, but in the end the Hawks fall to Missouri, 27-24.

Russ Gibson is a long time Hawk fan who came to the front row.

I thought it was a good game. I mean it’s a Hawkeye game,” said Gibson. “They had a good Irish boy who was a quarterback, defense played well as well as they could, some bad calls, stuff happens good game.”

Drew McGrath of Urbandale is a long time Hawk Fan.

“They played hard, kind of the same old stuff,” said McGrath. “I think I think everyone’s kind of looking for something new.”
