Waukee could soon be the home of the metro area’s second Steak ‘n Shake. The City Council this week approved a site plan for the restaurant proposed on 1.2 acres at 1045 S.E. Alice’s Road. A Dollar Tree originally was planned on the site. However, the project did not move forward, according to city documents. The proposed Steak ‘n Shake would be located in a 3,140-square-foot building with a drive-thru. An outdoor patio is planned on the building’s west side. The site would include 47 parking spaces.
