19-year-old woman sentenced to 30 years in prison for teen’s fatal fentanyl overdose

DES MOINES, Iowa — A 19-year-old Des Moines woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after giving a teenager a fentanyl-laced pill that led to a fatal overdose, according to the Polk County Attorney’s Office.

Johnniemae Carr pleaded guilty in January to delivery of fentanyl causing the death of another.
