Iowa 14 over Lake Red Rock to be closed throughout the summer

KNOXVILLE, Iowa — Iowa Highway 14 over Lake Red Rock will be closed for up to six months as the Iowa Department of Transportation works to improve bridge conditions.

The bridge, located between Monroe and Knoxville, was constructed in 1965. Although various improvements have been made to the bridge over the years, Iowa DOT says there is some deterioration of the bridge deck.

The bridge will close Monday, April 7 so crews can overlay the bridge, repair concrete, replace existing drainage systems and more. The bridge is expected to reopen on Thursday, Oct. 23…
