A Pella woman is accused of attempted murder following a domestic incident on Sunday night.
According to court documents, 57-year-old Marci Allen allegedly assaulted someone in a house located in the 1200 Block of Main Street with a knife. During an argument, Allen is accused of stabbing the victim several times. In a 911 call to the Pella Police Department, that person claimed Marci was trying to kill him. Medical personnel reported the victim had wounds to the hands and a deeper stab wound in his neck, which required the response of the MercyOne Air Med helicopter. The man involved in the attack is in “critical condition,” according to a release by the Pella Police Department.
Responding officers say upon arrival, they found Marci with blood on her clothing, and claimed she demonstrated to police a stabbing motion when describing the incident. A search warrant was acquired, and police believe the weapon used was a large kitchen knife. Allen faces one count of attempted murder, a Class B felony, and domestic abuse assault with a weapon.
