DES MOINES, Iowa — A lot of legislation at the Iowa Statehouse is on a ticking deadline this week and needs a certain amount of votes to stay alive before the end of the second “funnel” week.
“Funnel” weeks occur when lawmakers try to get as many bills moving forward by a certain deadline. If a bill doesn’t receive enough support, those bills are “funneled” out.
By Friday, April 4, bills need approval from the chamber it was introduced in, and a committee passage in the other chamber to survive…
