A 6-year-old boy drowned in an Altoona pond Tuesday.
The Altoona Police Department was dispatched to Hy-Vee, 108 Eighth St. S.W., for a report of a missing child on Tuesday at around 3:20 p.m., said Lt. Alyssa Wilson, spokesperson with the Altoona Police Department.
First responders found the child, identified as Elliot Shur, from Altoona, submerged in a pond near the grocery store at 4:07 p.m., Wilson said. The boy was transported to a local hospital that afternoon but later died…
