CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A lot of proposals are still on the table including a plan to overhaul childcare and early education programs across the state as Iowa’s State House lawmakers go through an unpaid week due to an extended session.
The bill already passed the senate in April 2025, and house GOP leaders say they’re still working on it after extending the session.
