Perry Man Arrested on Warrant for 28 Counts of Violating a No Contact Order With a Victim

A Perry man was recently taken into custody and faces 28 additional charges for violating a no contact order with a victim from an alleged March incident.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Jonathan De Jesus Corado Melendrez was previously arrested in late March for two Class D Felonies for domestic abuse assault 3rd or subsequent offense and impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury. The charges were from an alleged physical assault with the victim on March 27th in Perry.

The criminal complaint states that Melendrez posted bond on April 1st to be released from the Dallas County Jail, and a no contact order was in place with the victim. The court documents report that another investigation was conducted that law enforcement discovered that Melendrez had allegedly called the victim 28 times from April 6th-29th, which violated the conditions of the no contact order. A warrant was then issued on May 6th and Melendrez was arrested the same day in Minburn. He was later booked into the Dallas County Jail…
