Minburn Man Faces Two Years in Department of Corrections for Theft Charge

A Minburn man is being held in prison following a theft incident that occurred this past October.

According to court documents, 47-year-old Jason Spence was charged with a Class D Felony of Theft in the 2nd Degree and an aggravated misdemeanor of Theft in the 3rd Degree and is in custody at the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. The charges stemmed from an incident on October 13th, 2024 when the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office was notified by an individual, who told deputies that Spence took their truck to get an injector replaced costing $3,500 and there was a verbal agreement for Spence to purchase the vehicle. The criminal complaint shows that Spence confirmed with the victim that the repairs could be reimbursed as part of him buying the truck…
