Polk County Attorney says DMPD officer justified in March shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa — Polk County Attorney Kimberly Graham, in a Friday letter to Des Moines Police Chief Michael McTaggart, said the Des Moines police officer who non-fatally shot a suspect on March 20 was justified in doing so.

After the incident, police said Senior Police Ofc. Chad Ruroden had been assaulted, leading him to shoot the now 20-year-old suspect Jose Daniel Rodriguez-Sanchez in the torso.
