DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines’ Birdland Pool has had its summer opening delayed, according to the city’s parks and recreation department.
The holdup on summertime fun comes at the hands of a “a supply chain delay with a key mechanical part,” the department said in its Facebook post.
The pool was recently set to close before a city council budget proposal saved it for the time being. Due to the delay, the pool is waiting on a shipment of essential filters, officials say, with the unfulfilled order being made in October 2024…
