The Indianola City Council meets in a special session this evening. The council will hold a discussion and give direction to city staff regarding the Safer Streets 4 All (SS4A) Implementation Grant application. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries, with Indianola identifying multiple roadways along Highway 65/69 and Highway 92 with a projected cost of approximately $1.89 million, which prioritize improvements that can significantly reduce fatal and serious injury crashes including signal updates, improved pedestrian crossings, and a three-lane conversion on Highway 92 with left hand turn lanes between R63 and 150th Ave.
