Iowa DOT Announces Resurfacing Project on Highway 117 Through Prairie City

The Iowa Department of Transportation has announced plans to resurface both the east and west portions of State Highway 117 through Prairie City. The project will affect approximately one mile of the roadway, also known locally as 2nd Street or Old Highway 163.

During the resurfacing work, traffic will be reduced to a single lane and managed with a pilot vehicle. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of July and is expected to take about one week to complete.

InRoads Paving of Des Moines will handle the resurfacing. Both lanes of traffic will reopen at the end of each workday to minimize disruption for drivers…
