18-year-old injured in Grimes rollover crash has died

GRIMES, Iowa — An 18-year-old who was injured in a rollover crash in Grimes on Friday has died.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash in the 700 block of NE Edgewood Drive in Grimes. The sheriff’s office said that the driver of the vehicle, and sole occupant, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office announced that the driver, identified as 18-year-old Jok Mayom Jr., succumbed to his injuries.
