Forecast: More Storm Chances Ahead

DES MOINES, Iowa — We began the day with lows in the 50s in some parts of the state, and have ended up with nearly a carbon copy (does anyone know what that is anymore?) of Saturday.

Lows will be a little warmer Sunday night. We’ve seen a slight degradation in air quality today due to Canadian wildfire smoke in the atmosphere, and these conditions look to continue into Monday.

Monday and Tuesday will be dry, humid, and hotter. That heat and humidity will fuel rain chances that start Wednesday morning and continue into Thursday morning, as seen below.

We have more storm chances, as it appears now, starting late Saturday and lasting into Monday morning. Estimated rainfall totals by Sunday afternoon are below. Some spots could get another soaking.

Highs cool starting Thursday after the rainfall, as shown above, but warm up again into next weekend. Your WHO 13 7-day forecasts are below.
