Public Asked to Report Wild Turkey Sightings for DNR Survey

(Lewis) The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is calling on residents to report wild turkey sightings throughout July and August as part of its annual survey to track nesting success and poult production. The online survey is available at www.iowadnr.gov/turkey.

John Lorenzen, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa DNR, says participation is simple. Observers need only record the date, the county of the sighting, whether the turkey is an adult male or female, and the number of poults spotted.
