DES MOINES, Iowa – The streets of downtown Des Moines were lit up with hundreds of cyclists Saturday night.
The annual Moonlight Classic zigzagged across town and gave participants a chance to ride and see the city in a unique light. The event, which is open to cyclists of all ages, serves as a major fundraiser for Orchard Place, a local nonprofit organization that focuses on children’s mental well being.
In addition to the 10-mile route, the fundraiser also included a bit of friendly competition with contests for best bike and best costume.
