A 19-year-old Warren County man was arrested in Marion County for Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Flow of Air/Blood (Aggravated Misdemeanor).
On July 20, Brendan Wheeler of Lacona was taken into custody by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department at a residence on Oregon Drive. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department received a phone call from the victim during the incident. Court documents state that the victim reported that Wheeler strangled and slapped her. Before the deputies arrived on the scene, Wheeler fled on foot. While the victim was being questioned, court records say authorities could visibly see marks on her neck and her ear bleeding where Wheeler allegedly slapped her.
After questioning the victim, law enforcement located Wheeler leaning against a barn ,on the property. At that time, Wheeler was detained and questioned. Wheeler admitted he was under the influence of alcohol and stated he got into an argument. Wheeler stated he tried to leave in his car when the victim grabbed his keys and wouldn’t let him leave the residence. Court documents stated that after the victim took Wheeler’s keys, he strangled her until she passed out…
