JOHNSTON, Iowa — This year’s Healthy Kids Iowa program is close to halfway over, with the end of summer fast approaching.
The inaugural program allows families to pick up a box with between nine and 16 specific food items from partnering food pantries.
Normally families would use their summer EBT card to purchase whatever they like at grocery stores.
