Iowa Sees Eighth Case of Measles

A new case of measles was confirmed in Iowa this week and announced by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. It is Iowa’s eighth confirmed case of the year and it is in an adult resident of Western Iowa. The person is fully vaccinated and had no known link to the previous cases in the state.

As of Tuesday, the U.S. has had 1,319 confirmed cases of measles and 13% of cases have resulted in hospitalization. There have been three deaths.
