A Perry man is serving a two-year probation term following a speeding incident this past February.
According to court documents, 35-year-old Wesley Allen Jenkins pled guilty to a Class D Felony of Eluding While Exceeding Speed Limit by 25 miles per hour or more. The charges stemmed from February 14th, when a Perry Police Officer observed a 2009 silver Chevrolet Impala without a front license plate stop facing southbound at the intersection of 18th and McKinley Street.
The criminal complaint states that the vehicle proceeded to turn westbound on Mckinley Street and then the officer identified the driver as Jenkins, which he found out had prior incidents. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but Jenkins failed to yield, leading to a pursuit. Court documents show that Jenkins drove to 11th Street, to Warford Street, and then eastbound onto Willis Avenue, ignoring marked stop signs along the way…
