(Des Moines, IA) — A new study ranks Des Moines among the best small cities in the nation for renters.
The study from Rent Café looked at 200 small cities across the U.S. to see how many square feet renters can get for $1,500 a month. In Des Moines, that amount can stretch up to 1,075 square feet, which is five times more than renters can get in Manhattan, where that same dollar amount gets renters 216 square feet.
Omaha, Nebraska offers the same square footage for $1,500 per month, while Lincoln, Nebraska offers slightly more at 1,084 square feet. The small U.S. city where $1,500 a month goes the furthest is McAllen, Texas at 1,393 square feet. The national average for $1,500 a month is 715 square feet…
