The Ames Animal Shelter is once again participating in the Annual Clear the Shelters Adoption & Donation Campaign, a nationwide initiative led by NBC and Telemundo stations to promote pet adoption and raise critical funds for animal welfare organizations. Since its launch in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find new homes and raised more than $5 million for participating shelters and rescues.
Now through Friday, Oct. 31, adoption fees at the Ames Animal Shelter will be specially reduced:
- Adult cats (6 months and older): $25
- Kittens (under 6 months): Two for $100
- Adult dogs (6 months and older): $50
Normal application and appointment processes still apply, ensuring each adoption is the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter.
“This event is an incredible opportunity to help our animals find loving homes while also engaging the community in supporting shelter pets,” said Ron Edwards, Ames Animal Control Supervisor. “Whether you’re ready to adopt or prefer to donate, you can make a real difference.”…
