Keokuk, Iowa (KHQA) — At Keokuk High School—and the rest of the Keokuk Community School District—students won’t be able to get on their phones at all during school hours, an extension of a new Iowa law.
“We know that constant phone use has had harmful effects on students. They’re distracted, they’re disconnected, depression, things like that, all come from overuse of phone. So, I believe that’s why the policy is being enacted state-wide is it’s just a way to get students back, get them engaged in school again, increase face-to-face interactions, relationships, partnerships with the students and staff,” said Harrison.
