Son of Two-Time National Champ Chooses Other School After Huskers Snub

Bryson Williams, a three-star safety from Omaha Westside High School, committed to Iowa State on June 18, joining six other top Nebraska prospects in the Cyclones’ 2026 class.

Williams is the No. 9-ranked recruit from the Cornhusker State, according to 247Sports, and his decision carries added weight given his family history. His father, Jamel Williams, won back-to-back national championships at Nebraska in 1994 and 1995 before playing in the NFL and XFL.
