Urbandale man allegedly widens web of lies, false records, forgeries

An Urbandale man who was arrested in March after allegedly kidnapping an Urbandale woman and concocting a tissue of falsehoods in order to misrepresent himself as a lawyer in a child-custody dispute with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services was arrested again Wednesday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with further incidents in April, May and June in which he allegedly

Ryan Van Gorp, 38, of 5518 145th St., Urbandale, was charged with 12 counts of falsifying public documents, eight counts of forgery, five counts of impersonating a public official, 12 counts of tampering with records and one count of false reports to public safety agencies.
