A Colfax man who was facing a class D felony for being in possession of a stolen .38-caliber revolver has been sentenced, after pleading guilty to two serious misdemeanor charges. 45-year-old Donald Eugene Moss was given a pair of suspended 180-day jail terms Monday, along with one year of probation and a $430 fine. District Court Judge Brad McCall has also ordered Moss to undergo a psychological evaluation and complete any recommended treatment. Moss was arrested by a Prairie City Police officer on May 18th of last year, during a traffic stop for a broken taillight on West 108th Street South. Court documents state the loaded gun, which was reported as stolen to Des Moines Police in June 2023, was found in Moss’s vehicle, next to a tin of rolled marijuana cigarettes. The…..
