DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is seeking information from the public about an unsolved 2024 homicide.
Police responded to Ashworth Park on a report of a shooting around 1:30 a.m. on June 2, 2024. First responders found 34-year-old Courtnay Mundy-Gonzalez in the Ashworth Pool parking lot with a gunshot injury and other injuries sustained after being hit by a vehicle.
Mundy-Gonzalez was transported to a local hospital and died four days later. Two other people, both then-19-year-olds, were seriously injured in the shooting, which occurred during a large gathering of about 100 people…
