Two children injured in separate vehicle incidents, DMPD investigates

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says two children were injured in two separate incidents after being struck by vehicles Friday afternoon.

According to the DMPD, just before 3:30 p.m. DMPD officers and DMFD rescue personnel were called to East 12th Street and Fremont Street on reports of a 4-year-old being struck by a vehicle. Authorities say the child sustained minor injuries and didn’t require transportation to the hospital.

Just after 3:30 p.m., DMPD officers and Northern Warren Fire Department rescue personnel were called to the 300 block of East County Line Road to investigate a report of a 12-year-old child being struck by a vehicle.
