A lawsuit has been settled against a former Iowa State University police officer accused of using excessive force and injuring an Ames resident during an arrest.
Dariq Myles, 25 of Ames, filed a petition against Contreras, accusing the officer of injuring his shoulder on Aug. 12, 2023, requiring surgery and rehabilitation.
