Perry Recognizing September As Library Card Month

September is known as Library Card Month, and the Perry Public Library illustrates that this is the perfect opportunity to learn about the services they offer.

According to Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer, getting a library card can be done by presenting your current ID as well as a confirmation of your home address, whether it’s a piece of mail or utility bill, etc. She lists benefits of having a library card include checking out physical books, electronic books, audio books, movies, TV shows, and music for free. Farmer highlights a few online applications that the library card links with.

“Hoopla is one where you can get instant checkout, so a certain number (of books) per month, and then we have the Libby app. I think people don’t realize how many services the library has to support you in other ways, like a language-learning app on our website. We have tools that can help you make a resume, we have tools that can help you with tutoring and studying.”…
