Iowa and Minnesota lower flags to half-staff on 24th anniverary of the 9/11 terror attacks

KIMT-TV 3 News – The governors of Iowa and Minnesota have ordered all flags on state property to fly a half-staff on Thursday in honor of Patriots Day and in memory of those killed in the 9/11 terror attacks.

“Twenty-four years ago, nearly 3,000 innocent Americans and brave first responders lost their lives to the unspeakably evil terrorist attacks against our great nation on September 11,” Governor Kim Reynolds said. “On Patriots Day, we honor them and their families and reaffirm our pledge that we will never forget.”

“On September 11, thousands of innocent lives were lost in an unthinkable tragedy that profoundly changed our nation,” said Governor Tim Walz. “On this day of remembrance, we mourn the lives lost, honor the heroism of our first responders, and reflect on the resilience of the American people.”…
