We are in for an extended stretch of well-above average temperatures across Southeastern Minnesota and Northern Iowa this weekend through the middle of next week.
High pressure ridging is building northeastward across the Central United States, and into the Upper Midwest Friday. This process will continue into Saturday and Sunday, with winds closer to the surface coming from the southeast, between 5-15 mph. These southeasterly winds will aid in transporting more moisture-rich air into the region, as well as warmer temperatures.
As a result, highs will be in the mid-upper 80F’s across the region Saturday, and upper-80F’s to low-90F’s Sunday. Dew points will be in the upper-60F’s to lower-70F’s, making for a soupy weekend as well. Skies will be partly cloudy each day, with light southeasterly winds between 5 to 10 mph…
