Interrupted Des Moines Git N Go burglary leads to chase that ends in West Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa — Police are still seeking suspects in a burglary at a Des Moines convenience store that was interrupted by an officer and led to a high-speed chase ending in West Des Moines on Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Paul Parizek, Public Information Officer for the Des Moines Police Department, said a patrol officer interrupted a burglary at the Git N Go in the 100 block of Watrous Avenue just after 2:30 a.m. The patrol officer tried to stop the vehicle leaving the scene, but the driver refused and a pursuit began.

The chase lasted about 12 minutes and topped speeds of 100 miles per hour before Sgt. Parizek said the vehicle was ditched in the 8600 block of Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. The suspects fled on foot.

Police said there were at least two, possibly three, suspects. A search of the area, including a police K-9, did not locate the suspect…
