DES MOINES, Iowa — Polk County taxpayers could be on the hook for a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed by the county’s former human resources director.
Jim Nahas filed the lawsuit in 2021 for wrongful termination and libel. According to the Des Moines Register, on Monday, a Dallas County jury ruled in his favor, awarding him $4.26 million.
Some of the money will come directly from two current county supervisors and a former county administrator.
