DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines man will spend up to 25 years in prison after he pleaded guilty Monday to charges tied to a 2024 East Village shooting.

Initially arrested on two attempted murder charges, 27-year-old Cori Shields pleaded guilty to willful injury causing serious injury, reckless use of a firearm and intimidation with a dangerous weapon, according to the Polk County Attorney’s Office.
