DES MOINES, Iowa — Police have announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection to a September shooting that injured one person in Des Moines.
On Wednesday morning, the Des Moines Police Department sought help from the public to locate a suspect shown on surveillance video near the scene of a shooting near SE 11th St. and Railroad Avenue on the evening of September 20th.

Sgt. Paul Parizek of the Des Moines Police Department said on Friday that a suspect was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after detectives followed up on tips from the community.
Austin Johnson, 29, was taken into custody in the 1000 block of Shaw Street, about three blocks from where the shooting happened. Sgt. Parizek said Johnson had a 9mm handgun in his possession.
Criminal complaints filed in the case say Johnson fired three shots from a Taurus G2C 9 mm at a vehicle with four people inside. One person inside the vehicle was struck by two bullets in the left hand and right cheek. Their injuries were not life-threatening…
