DES Moines, Iowa — Starting October 1, when the government shut down, many members of the Iowa National Guard have been working without pay while others have been furloughed.
Now, troops are bracing for the possibility of not receiving a paycheck on time. As there’s no clear end in sight for the government shutdown.
“They are not getting paid or receiving a paycheck and they’ll start to see that or feeling that impact coming October 15th if anything isn’t passed or changes before that time,” Jackie Schmillen the public affairs director for the Iowa National Guard said…
