Paul McCartney Makes a Des Moines Fan’s Dream Come True

Paul McCartney was going to make a lot of fans’ years simply by putting on a rock solid show in Des Moines, IA. The 83-year-old singer brought his Get Back Tour to the Casey’s Center this week, playing over three dozen songs in a three-hour show that, judging by social media reactions, was worth every penny of the ticket price.

It surely was for one fan, whose birthday wish came true. He got an acknowledgement from McCartney on his big day. However, it did require some serious monk-like devotion, showing up for the show several hours before doors even opened.

A Sioux City Man’s Dreams Came True:

KCCI caught up with some concertgoers, one of whom traveled all the way from Utah after waking up at 3am in advance of the show. Dozens lined up by a loading dock near the Casey’s Center in Des Moines to wait for the doors to open at 6:30pm, and of course to try and catch a glimpse of the Beatles legend when he arrived.

Dan Myers, a lifelong fan of McCartney from Sioux Falls, was attending the show on his 65th birthday. He told KCCI that every song of McCartney’s has a personal meaning for him, and he still sings along like he did some-40 years ago, when these songs were new…
