Altoona breaks ground on new fire station

ALTOONA, Iowa — Altoona broke ground on a new fire station, Station 26, on Monday.

Altoona’s mayor, members of the city council, city staff, fire department, SVPA Architects, Two Rivers Engineering, KPFF Consulting Engineers, McClure and DCI Group attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

Once constructed, Altoona will have two fire stations — one centrally located, the existing station, and another in the northern part of the city…
