Teenager injured in morning shooting on Des Moines’ eastside

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is conducting a shooting investigation after a teenager was injured Sunday morning.

Authorities say DMPD officers and Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel responded to 3728 Hubbell Avenue just after 8 a.m. on Sunday on reports of a shooting at an apartment building.

Multiple arrests made in northeast Iowa drug investigation

Once on the scene, police say that the responding officers found a 16-year-old female injured by gunfire. The minor was transported by medics to a local hospital in downtown. Medical care is ongoing and the victim’s condition is not yet known at this time.

Police say there has been a potential suspect identified, but that individual is not in police custody yet. The department also shared that the early investigation indicates that this was a targeted incident, while adding that there is no ongoing danger to the neighborhood…
