BONDURANT, Iowa — With Hurricane Melissa making landfall, a Bondurant man can’t stop thinking about his family who still lives in Jamaica.
Antonio Riley said Melissa is the worst hurricane he’s seen hit his home country since 1988, before he was even born. His dad is choosing to hunker down and stick it out, hoping the worst of it avoids his Ocho Rios home, in the northern part of Jamaica.
“When I talked to him this morning, he had power,” Riley said Tuesday. “So that’s good, because I think half of the island right now is out of power.”…
