In October 2025, the Ankeny Community School District announced that four of its schools were named to the 2025 Leader in Me Lighthouse Academic Honor Roll. Prairie Trail, Northeast, and Westwood Elementary Schools were recognized for ranking in the top 15% statewide for academic proficiency. Heritage Elementary was honored for significant academic growth.
