ACMH Contributes Over $30 Million In Economic Impact In 2024 According To Report From IHA

Hospitals across Iowa generated nearly $23 billion for the state’s economy in 2024, and Audubon County Memorial Hospital (ACMH) contributed just over $30 million of that total, according to the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). In a recent report, data collected by IHA show that ACMH accounted for approximately five percent of the county’s gross domestic product, with expenditures totaling $17.3 million. The hospital is a large employer in Audubon County, providing 99 jobs, which make up 5.3 percent of the county’s workforce, paying $9 million in wages. ACMH also contributed $121.8 thousand in community benefits, which accounted for charity care and bad debts for services the hospital provided but was not paid for due to the patient’s inability to afford them.
