Johnston School Board candidate sues Ethics Board over alleged violation of first amendment rights

JOHNSTON, Iowa — A Johnston School Board candidate is suing the Iowa Ethics Board, accusing members of violating his first amendment rights.

Connor Christenson was one of the three candidates reprimanded for displaying campaign signs at a business in Johnston. The Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board says the displaying of the signs violated an Iowa Code that prohibits the placing of campaign signs on property owned or leased by corporations.
