DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department said an elementary school was placed under lockdown following reports of gunfire in the area.
Pause in construction at 515 Walnut Tower nears 2 week mark amid funding delay
The DMPD says officers were called to the 1800 block of Clark Street before 3 p.m. on reports of gunfire. A caller told authorities that gunfire had been exchanged between two parties who then both fled the area.
Des Moines police say the King Elementary School has been placed on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution.”
Authorities say no injuries have been reported at this time. There is no indication of ongoing danger to the area, according to the DMPD…
