DES MOINES, Iowa — Blank Park Zoo is honoring veterans and active-duty service members this weekend with free admission as part of its Salute to Our Heroes event.
From Saturday, Nov. 8 through Tuesday, Nov. 11, all veterans and active-duty military personnel can visit the zoo at no cost. Up to four accompanying guests will also receive half-price admission.
“We are honored to show our appreciation for the service and sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes and their families,” said Anne Shimerdla, president and CEO of Blank Park Zoo. “This event is our way of saying thank you and creating an opportunity for these heroes to enjoy a memorable day with loved ones.”…
